# Connect Claude Code

These steps connect Claude Code to your Promoly account. Last tested on **October 2, 2026** with Claude Code 2.1.285.

Connected agents are in an invite-only beta. See [Connect an AI coding agent](https://support.promo.ly/en/article/connect-an-ai-coding-agent-1udge2h/) for what an agent can and can't do.

## Add the Promoly server

Run this in your terminal:

```sh
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user --client-id promoly-claude-code --callback-port 18432 promoly https://api.promo.ly/mcp
```

Type the client ID and port exactly as shown. Promoly only accepts this pairing for Claude Code.

## Sign in

```sh
claude mcp login promoly
```

Your browser opens Promoly. Sign in, choose the account, decide whether to allow drafts, and click **Allow access**. The terminal confirms when Claude Code is connected.

You can also sign in from inside Claude Code: type `/mcp`, pick **promoly**, then choose **Authenticate**.

## Check the connection

Start Claude Code and paste:

```text
Use the promoly tools to show which Promoly account you're connected to, then list my five most recent campaigns.
```

## Sign out or remove it

```sh
claude mcp logout promoly
claude mcp remove promoly --scope user
```

Signing out on your computer doesn't end the connection on Promoly's side. To do that, disconnect it under **Profile** → **Manage connected apps** in the dashboard.

## If something goes wrong

- **Port 18432 is busy.** Another app is using it. Close that app and run `claude mcp login promoly` again.
- **`/mcp` shows promoly as needing authentication.** The connection was disconnected or reached 30 days. Run `claude mcp login promoly`.
- **You're on a remote machine over SSH.** `claude mcp login promoly --no-browser` prints the sign-in link. Open it on any computer, then paste the address the browser lands on back into the terminal.
