Adding contacts to groups
You can do this via different routes: Within the 'subscribers' dash, click '+' to add a new contact. Fill out the form and select 'groups' located at the bottom. You can add them to an individual to multiple groups if necessary. For single contacts: Within the 'subscribers' dash, select the contact, click 'multi-group assignment' icon and then select the appropriate group. Or Within the 'subscribers' dash, locate the contact, click 'edit' and then add them to the appropriate group.
Do you share my contacts?
Your contacts are not shared, sold or traded with anyone else on the platform. They are secured safely on our database.
Exporting your mailing list
Head to your subscribers tab on your dashboard. Click tools and select download CSV.
When an email promo cannot be delivered to an email address, it’s called a bounce. There are lots of different reasons why promos can bounce so, when it happens, a “return to sender” message (or, SMTP reply) is sent from the recipient’s mail server to explain why. Promo.ly will display this information in your activity log. We recommend reading this support article about free list analysis.
Creating and importing mailing lists
My promos are going to SPAM
Your promos should not be going to your recipient’s SPAM folder. One of the main reasons this may happen is because spam filtering has become more meticulous. Email providers are attempting to eliminate spam by tightening their filters. However, the filters aren’t always 100% accurate, so occasionally legitimate promos go to spam too. If you encounter your promos landing in SPAM, please message us on chat, and we’ll look into this for you as a matter of urgency.
After creating a promo campaign, selecting your recipients and clicking ‘send’, your emails are added to the sent queue. Promoly processes the queue within a few minutes.
What does pending mean?
Occasionally Promoly displays ‘pending’ in the status column when viewing the sent promos. Don’t worry; your promo is in a queue and Promoly is working its way through the pending promos.
